AI Vision is our premium document processing feature that uses advanced AI models to extract text from scanned documents, images, and complex visual content. Unlike traditional OCR, AI Vision understands document structure, preserves formatting, and intelligently handles tables, equations, and mixed content with exceptional accuracy.
Which plans include AI Vision?
AI Vision is available on our Starter, Pro, and Scale plans. Starter includes 50 AI Vision credits per month, Pro includes 500 per month, and Scale includes 2,000 per month. Learn more about AI Vision.
How are AI Vision credits calculated?
Credits are calculated based on content type: Images (PNG, JPG, WebP, GIF) cost 1 credit per file, regardless of size. Documents (PDF, DOCX) cost 1 credit per 5 pages. For example, a 20-page PDF uses 4 credits (ceil(20/5) = 4), while a single image uses 1 credit. Credits reset monthly.
What file types support AI Vision?
AI Vision supports PDF documents (.pdf), Word documents (.docx), and images including PNG, JPEG, WebP, and GIF formats. These are ideal for scanned documents, photo-based PDFs, handwritten notes, and documents with complex layouts.
How is my data protected during AI Vision processing?
Documents are processed securely using Microsoft Azure OpenAI Service with enterprise-grade security. All data is encrypted using TLS 1.2+ during transit, Microsoft does not store your documents after processing, and your data is never used to train AI models. See our Privacy Policy for full details.
What file formats can I convert to Markdown?
We support a wide range of formats including PDF, Word (DOCX/DOC), PowerPoint (PPTX/PPT), Excel (XLSX/XLS), HTML, Images (PNG/JPEG/GIF), Audio files (MP3/WAV), CSV, JSON, XML, and ZIP archives. Each format is processed with specialized conversion algorithms to ensure the best output quality that's optimized for both human reading and AI/LLM processing.

What are the file size limits?
File size limits depend on your plan: Free allows up to 5 MB, Starter up to 100 MB, Pro up to 1 GB, and Scale up to 2 GB per file. There are no page limits for standard conversions — only file size and monthly conversion count apply. AI Vision credits (for scanned PDFs and images) are counted separately per page.
How accurate is the conversion?
Our converters use various open source and proprietary advanced Markdown libraries along with specialized algorithms to maintain the highest possible accuracy. We leverage various open source and proprietary enterprise-grade tech to preserve formatting, structure, and styling while converting to clean, readable Markdown.
