Paid Plans

Connect MarkdownConverters to AI applications like Claude Desktop, ChatGPT, Cursor, and any other MCP-compatible client. Once connected, your AI assistant can convert documents, read past conversions, and search your content library — all through natural conversation.

Requirements

  • Active paid plan (Starter, Pro, or Scale)
  • An AI app that supports MCP (Model Context Protocol)

Quick Start

Create a Connection

  1. Log in to your MarkdownConverters dashboard
  2. Click MCP Server in the left navigation
  3. Click "Create New Connection"
  4. Enter a name for this connection (e.g., "Claude Desktop - Full Access")
  5. Select the permissions you want to grant:
    • Convert Files — Allows the AI to convert new documents to Markdown
    • Read Data — Allows the AI to list and read your existing conversions
    • Search Data — Allows the AI to search through your converted content
  6. Click Create

Copy Your Server URL

After creation, your unique MCP Server URL will be displayed:

https://app.markdownconverters.com/api/mcp/mcp_xxxxxxxxxxxx...

Important: Copy this URL immediately. It contains your secret token and will not be shown again. If you lose it, you can regenerate a new one from the dashboard.

Add to Your AI App

Follow the setup guide for your specific AI app below.

Client Setup Guides

Claude Desktop

  1. Open Claude Desktop
  2. Go to Settings > Developer > Edit Config
  3. Add the configuration shown below to your claude_desktop_config.json
  4. Replace YOUR_MCP_SERVER_URL with the URL you copied
  5. Save the file and restart Claude Desktop

ChatGPT

  1. Open a new ChatGPT conversation
  2. Click the Tools icon (wrench/plug) in the message bar
  3. Click "Add MCP Server"
  4. Paste your MCP Server URL
  5. Click Connect

Cursor

  1. Open Cursor
  2. Go to Settings > MCP
  3. Click "Add new MCP server"
  4. Set the transport type to "Streamable HTTP"
  5. Paste your MCP Server URL
  6. Save settings

Other AI Apps

For any other MCP-compatible application:

  1. Look for "MCP", "MCP Server", or "Tool Connections" in the app's settings
  2. Choose the "Streamable HTTP" transport type (not stdio, not SSE-only)
  3. Paste your MCP Server URL
  4. Save and connect
